FACULTY
MIA SEGAL 
Mia was Dr. Feldenkrais' first assistant, collaborator and
associate for sixteen years, after which together, they trained
students worldwide.
Mia has been conducting her own training programmes for many
decades and is known all over the world for her unequalled mastery
of the work and as a superb teacher. The unique design of her
programmes is testimony to her vast contribution, experience and
leadership in teaching this method. Mia is committed to ensure that
this work continues in the essential and powerful form it was
directly and personally developed in her presence by Dr.
Feldenkrais during their many years of collaboration and
friendship. She is acclaimed worldwide as the standard
bearer for the applications and philosophy of the
Feldenkrais Method.
As Dr. Feldenkrais is quoted: "...Mia is my best students and the
only one to take the work beyond me".
Mia has a black belt in Judo, which she received in the Kodokan,
Tokyo, in 1970.
LEORA GASTER 
Leora Gaster is one of the leading teachers of the Feldenkrais
Method. Raised personally under the guidance of Dr. Feldenkrais,
Leora has extensive knowledge and ability in the field, enhanced by
a degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and years of
teaching experience.
Leora is the Academic Programs Director of MBS Academy
(International). She is deeply informative and precise in her
transmission of the principles and applications. Her clarity of
guidance, both in large seminars and as mentor to practitioners and
trainers of all levels, has produced some of the best Feldenkrais
practitioners worldwide. Leora has written the comprehensive set of
concise manuals of the work and has produced targeted DVD's
illustrating its underlying principles and applications. She
currently leads programs and teaches in several Feldenkrais centres
in the world, including NY, California, New Mexico, Rome, Munich
and Tokyo.
Leora received a black belt in Judo from the Kodokan, Tokyo, when
she was 16, with special commendations and training at the
master-level.
MAJA VAN NIEKERK
Co-Trainer / Master Practitioner / Seminar Leader
While studying education, Maja taught blind children to orient
themselves in space, teaching them to perform somersaults on a
trampoline. This got her interested in exploring the impact of
movement on behaviour. During her Feldenkrais training, which she
took with Mia Segal in 1993, she further developed her concepts in
the use of movement education. In addition, Maja has her own
successful private practice, leads her own workshops and works in
close consultation with neurologist and acupuncturist Mr
Wong-Chung, formerly head of the department of Neurology at
Nijmegen University Hospital. Maja has been assisting in the
three-year international programmes for many years and now
co-trains and is part of the faculty respsonsible for Assistant

DR.PETER SCHERK
Medical Applications / Feldenrkais Practitioner / Acupuncture
Peter Scherk, MD, trained with Mia Segal for over 20 years and
worked as a Seminar Assistant to both Mia and Leora and helped
present Medical-related material, while maintaining a large
practice in his hometown in Germany. Peter is dedicated to
integrating traditional, scientific and complementary disciplines
and, to this end, continues to pursue studies in relevant fields.
In addition to his general medical practice, Peter, being a
professional violinist, leads workshops targeted to troubleshoot
issues specific to professional musicians. These workshops are
designed to develop their competence and abilities in dealing with
multiple aspects and stresses which are part of professional
performance.
DR. MARTIN THRIEMER
Cardiology / Feldenkrais Practitioner / Course assistant / Medical
Applications
Specialized in cardio-surgery, internal medicine, cardiology and
tropical medicine in several international hospitals. Between 1982
and 1995 Dr. Thriemer repeatedly visited Congo as a physician, also
developing health-care systems. He completed his Feldenkrais
training with Mia Segal in 1992. Currently, Martin regularly
presents Feldenkrais classes. He is in private practice in
Stuttgart, providing general medicine and cardiology
treatment.
SABINE VOHMANNE - HEINZE
Master Practitioner / Assistant coordinator / Seminar Leader /
Physiothrapist / NLP Trainer
Sabine studied the Feldenkrais Method with Mia Segal and fulfilled
the role of course-assistant leader and coordinator in trainings
lead by both Mia and Leora. Sabine teaches the Feldenkrais Method
and is a Master Practitioner and Trainer in NLP, which she studied
with Bandler and Grinder, and which she teaches in the
health-and-therapy NLP Trainings. Sabine worked as a
physiotherapist, studied Family Therapy and Milton Erickson's
Hypnotherapy. She wrote a book about NLP and Health, which is
successfully published in German, Spanish and Italian. Sabine is
currently based in Brazil where she is establishing new programs.

VEIT SIEGMUND
School-Systems / Education / School Athletics
Veit, a school teacher of science and physical education, trained
with Mia since 1992, assisted Mia and Leora in a three year
training and, over the past 10 years, created a breakthrough in the
educational concept of his entire regional school-system, proving
progress in students' academics, as well as reduction of
athletic-related injuries in , by introducing Feldenkrais lessons
into the curriculum. Veit has inspired enthusiasm for the
Feldenkrais work among students, parents and faculty alike. He will
be continuing this exciting project with Mia and Leora, designing a
specialized Feldenkrais curriculum for school-teachers, supported
by the German educational system.
GERARD ZEIDERHOFF
University Professor / Applications for Musicians
Gerard studied the clarinet with Walter Boeykens and History of Art
at the University of Utrecht. He plays internationally and teaches
singers and wind instrumentalists at the Conservatory of Music in
Zwolle, the Utrecht Academy of Theater, the Cultural Center in
Utrecht, and special workshops and master-classes with Janneke
Ritsema van Eck, Ank Meyer and Moshe Hammer. Gerard is a regular
contributor in the field of Feldenkrais and Music in many
Dutch magazines. Gerard completed the Professional Feldenkrais
Training in 1994 with Mia and continues advanced trainings with
her. He is now part of the MBS Performing Arts Faculty.
